Our European pal, Julien Dokhan from Allocine, is decamped at the currently-running Berlin Film Festival, and as per usual, he hits us up with great movie soundtrack related news months before the info hits North America.

He tell us, lauded German electronic indie rockers The Notwist have composed the score to the new Hans-Christian Schmid film, “Storm.”

This is not a total surprise considering the Notwist already composed the music to his 2003 film, “Distant Lights.” The band launched their own label Alien Transistor to release the soundtrack and Boomkat said, “these exceptional pieces were executed based on piano loops and minimal electronics, with the [addition] of cello and zarb imbuing [the] proceedings with a reflective and melancholy tone.”

Playing in competition at Berlin, “Storm” stars Anamaria Marinca — the amazing break out lead of “4 Months, 3 Weeks & 2 Days,” Kerry Fox, Stephen Dillane, Rolf Lassgård and centers on a prosecutor leading a trial against a former commander of the Yugoslavian National Army accused of the deportation and killing of Bosnian-Muslim civilians following the Bosnian war.
