The game is set in the near future, in the aftermath of a nuclear attack on Washington DC, and follows a civil war between the California Commonwealth, The Confederacy, the Great Plains Federation, the New England Alliance, Pacifica and the Republic of Texas.

Still, Bob Weinstein doesn’t care what any of us think: “I’m going back to what I do best,” he boasts, as quoted in this Variety blog piece. “These films are our strength and we are committed to doing them in style,” he insists, referring to needless continuations of a dozen or so franchises we wish would stay dead and buried.

We swear we wrote about this before, but can’t find it now.

Anywhoo, apparently No.5 is indeed still alive and not disassembled. Today, Variety writes that Dimension films has hired “Robot Chicken” writer, Dan Milano to pen the script.
