Written and directed by Pippa Bianco and based on her Cannes Film Festival award-winning short film of the same name, “Share” premiered early this year at the Sundance Film Festival where it was largely met with major praise. A chilling and unflinching look at the fallout of a non-consensual and compromising video released publicly to the teenage peers of lead character Mandy (newcome Rhianne Barreto,) it’s a timely and horrifying look at how, systematically, victims face a “damned if you do/damned if you don’t” reality when it comes to speaking out.

Of the films that premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, “Share” might have had the most buzz coming out of the event. The drama, focused on a teenager dealing with the fallout from being blacked out and potentially assaulted, ended up being purchased by A24 and subsequently was signed for distribution by HBO.

Now, with the film only a month away from its HBO premiere, we have a first look at the trailer for “Share.” As mentioned, the film follows the story of a 16-year-old girl that wakes up after a night of partying with no memory of what happened.

The 2019 Sundance Film Festival ended on Saturday night in a ceremony hosted writer, director and actress Marianna Palka (“Glow,” “Good Dick”).  “Brittany Runs A Marathon,” acquired by Amazon Studios, took the Audience Award.  “Clemency,” which is still looking for a distributor, took the Grand Jury Prize.

In the Documentary categories, “One Child Nation” directed by Nanfu Wang, Jialing Zhang, took the U.S. Documentary Grand Jury Prize Award.   “Knock Down The House” directed by Rachel Lears won the U.S.
