Deadline reports that Teyana Taylor and Sasha Calle are the latest to join the ensemble of the upcoming crime pic. Netflix bought Artist Equity‘s package for “RIP” in June, which sees Affleck and Damon co-star for the first time since last year’s “Air.” But “RIP” isn’t quite the “dad cinema” that movie is.

Music Box Films has set a release in September.

The directorial debut of Alessandra Lacorazza, known for a few shorts and writing and editorial work, “In The Summers,” is a touching and heartbreaking semi-autobiographical drama film that spans many years.

There are literally thousands of examples in the history of cinema. It’s one reason people are compelled to return to a movie theater again and again. But we’re not sure we can remember the last film centered on a father and his daughters that resonates as much as Alessandra Lacorazza Samudio’s “In The Summers.” Perhaps the thin air of the mountains of Utah is distracting us because even with its minor flaws, this is a Sundance Film Festival premiere that’s worth your attention.

It’s not the pivotal movie that the DCU needs it to be by its own design—like its hero, it’s stuck thinking about the past, and it swaps out its heroism for a tidal wave of gloopy zeroes and ones.

The synopsis for the film? After Ezra Miller‘s Barry Allen goes back in time in an attempt to save his parents from getting murdered, he changes the present into one where superheroes he knows no longer exist. To correct his timeline, Barry has to join forces with other heroes, including himself, to get things back on track.

Because as you know, “The Flash” started production when the DCEU was in full swing—replete with cameos like Henry Cavill’s Superman—but the film is now under the aegis of James Gunn’s DC Studios, and it’s been reported that Cavill’s cameo was nixed and some of the other connective tissue to the past has been purportedly scrapped.
