Much like the original novel, the “Normal People” series adaptation became a huge success almost immediately, when it debuted in 2020. It was so much of a success, Hulu and the BBC were quick to get the gang back together for another Sally Rooney-inspired series, “Conversations with Friends.”

So, as you might expect, Hulu would love to replicate that success by bringing together a new incredible cast for another Rooney-inspired project, “Conversations with Friends.”

According to Hulu, “Conversations with Friends” is set to be directed by “Normal People” filmmaker Lenny Abrahamson (“Room”) and writer Alice Birch.

After the apparent success of Hulu’s recent drama series, “Normal People,” based on the best-selling novel by Sally Rooney, it appears the streaming service is ready to move ahead with yet another adaptation of the author’s work with the development of a new show titled “Conversations with Friends.”

According to Hulu, the streaming service has begun work on developing “Conversations with Friends” with the same production team, Element Pictures, behind the aforementioned “Normal People.” And just to keep the “Normal People” magic alive, it appears that Hulu is bringing back filmmaker Lenny Abrahamson to serve as lead director on the new series along with Alice Birch, who will serve as lead writer.
