William Baldwin Slams Sharon Stone Over Claim ‘Sliver’ Producer Robert Evans Pressured Her To Sleep With Him

Sharon Stone has made some wild claims and angered 1993 erotic thriller “Sliver” co-star William Baldwin in the process. On The Louis Theroux podcast (via Entertainment Weekly), Stone alleged that legendary Hollywood producer Robert Evans (“The Godfather”) attempted to convince her to sleep with Baldwin during the production of the film to get a better performance out of him. An obvious case of sexual misconduct/harassment by Evans, even if it was in jest, led to a dust-up with the actress, which she believes impacted future work.

In a recent interview with Esquire, filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola revealed that he originally wanted Martin Scorsese to direct “The Godfather II,” but he request was shot down.

“The ending [of “The Godfather”] was clear and Michael [Corleone] has corrupted himself — it was over. So I didn’t understand why they wanted to make another ‘Godfather,’ Coppola explained (it’s not the first time he’s said the other Godfather films were totally superfluous and redundant; he’s been taking this story out for another long walk of late).

James Toback And Brett Ratner Making ‘DeLorean’ Biopic

You sleep on anything and the web will make you pay. Last week we noticed one of the last Carpetbagger NYTimes blog posts (for now, as it gets absorbed into another blog) that filmmaker James Toback (“Tyson”) was planning on tackling a screenplay about the auto industry’s fallen angel, John DeLorean (creator of the titular DeLorean featured in “Back To The Future”) with filmmakers Brett Ratner and Robert Evans.

Toback expressed interest in the project back in May during “Tyson” press, and now Variety has confirmed the project and said financiers are on board.

File under rumor mill, but it’s one that everyone has jumped on and now we feel like we can’t ignore just in case (or feel like following the herd, etc.).

According to the very excellent PTA fansite, Cigarettes and Red Vines, the follow-up to Paul Thomas Anderson’s “There Will Be Blood,” is a film set in Las Vegas and based off the Peter Bart novella, “Power Play,” that will be shot for Paramount.
