But now it’s time for a first for the rock band: the big screen. Variety reports that Universal has optioned the rights to “Scar Tissue,” the 2004 memoir of RHCP frontman Anthony Kiedis. It’s no surprise the studio wants to make the book into a film after twenty years.

However, he’s changing things up with “Song To Song.” An array of Spotify-ready artists populate the cast and soundtrack, and Pitchfork has the breakdown on who you’ll see and hear in the film — and who you won’t.

Firstly, while he was listed as part of the cast last year, Christian Bale didn’t make the final cut of the movie, nor did performances by Arcade Fire, Iron & Wine, and Fleet Foxes.

Yes, Spike Jonze’s “I’m Here” is only thirty-five minutes long, but it still ranks as one of the finest pieces of cinema this year. The film which unspooled online earlier this year, and played at SXSW, follows the bittersweet relationship between two robots living in a slightly modified contemporary Los Angeles. Among the film’s many charms was it’s great use of music and the film now has an official soundtrack release.

The nine track release will feature previously released material by Animal Collective, Gui Boratto, Girls and Sleigh Bells, but earns its must-buy stripes by including three brand new, never-before-released tracks by The Lost Trees, the band featuring Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Nick Zinner, Red Hot Chili Pepper’s Flea, and L.A.

Everyone remembers Red Hot Chili Peppers singer Anthony Kiedis’ 2004 memoir, “Scar Tissue,” right? The candid and revealing autobiography centered around Kiedis’ unusual rock n’ roll upbringing by his drug- dealing father, his heroin addiction(s) and gave intimate details on the many, many, many women he bed (includes stark naked photos of many of them including former-ex Ione Skye).

Well, Kiedis is developing a series for HBO based on his unconventional childhood (his first drug experience was at 12, his sexual experiences were also incredibly early with many older women).
