And for Miller’s first narrative feature in eight years, she crafts a tale about every artist’s worst nightmare: a creative block and the unlikely sources one needs to disentangle from it.

But add to it the fact that the new feature, “She Came to Me,” has an incredible cast led by Anne Hathaway, and suddenly, the romantic comedy is one of our most-anticipated releases of the next couple of years.

Rebecca Miller, who previously helmed films such as “Maggie’s Plan,” “The Private Lives of Pippa Lee,” and “Personal Velocity,” is set to helm a new rom-com titled, “She Came to Me.” And sweetening the deal is the fact that the cast is set to be led by Anne Hathaway, Tahar Rahim, Marisa Tomei, Joanna Kulig, and Matthew Broderick.

From HBO Documentary Films “Arthur Miller: Writer” is coming to the small screen soon, and judging by the new trailer, audiences will get a glimpse at the personal life of the revered playwright. Directed by his daughter, Rebecca Miller, the documentary is not just a retrospective of the life of one of the most beloved creative figures in American history, but also a collection of home movies and intimate interviews between a father and a daughter.

When there are so many talented and versatile performers in the world who would love to hold the clout Sandler does in Hollywood, the idea that we clamor to enthusiastically support Sandler’s non-just for the paycheck/only ever for the paycheck roles is embarrassing. Not pushing out trash on a consistent basis (with seemingly the knowledge of what it is) isn’t anything commendable.

Try as you might, there is nothing you can control about what fate may have laying in wait for you around the next corner. However, Maggie (Greta Gerwig) is determined to make her own happiness, rather than wait for circumstance to serve it up for her.

She smartly tackles modern family planning, the conundrum of destiny and has a Kathleen Hanna cameo in her latest film? In a recent sitdown with the Playlist, she discussed “Maggie’s Plan,” a brilliant blend of the absurd, the cerebral, and, for good measure, a touch of Shakespearian scheming. The film examines the folly of real life through singular, off-beat characters, banter and delicious detail, in which the writer-director gleefully disposes every rom-com trope.

Thanksgiving. Best holiday ever. If we’re going to watch a movie, it will probably be from the comfort of home — in the spirit of the occasion. But Hollywood is banking on families venturing out to the cinema over the long weekend, and they are usually right on the money. What are they going to see? It is quite a mixed bag this year and with “New Moon” sure to pull in a least the second-timers and “The Blind Side” pulling the NFL heartstrings, the #1 spot is anyone’s guess.

A trailer for Rebecca Miller’s “The Private Lives of Pippa Lee” has surfaced online.

We saw this one at TIFF last week and while it’s getting rave reviews in some circles and we’re generally fans of Miller’s work, like “The Ballad Of Jack & Rose,” it’s uneven and imperfect. However, it does still leave an impact (there are a few killer scenes too), that’s mostly due to the performances. Lead actress Robin Wright Penn is generating Oscar talk from her subtle performance, and she was strong, but we weren’t necessarily blown away by her character having a nervous breakdown in the suburbs as she revisits her murky and forgotten past.

Film festivals generally have two kinds of films. There are the ones you’re dying to see and have been anticipating for months and then there are the ones you don’t know that much about, but you’re feeling adventurous and would like to learn more about.

“The Private Lives of Pippa Lee,” is very much in the latter category, a film we knew little of, but wanted to learn more about.

Starring Robin Wright Penn, who is earning rave reviews in some circles for her supposedly nuanced performance, it’s directed by Rebbecca Miller.

More Toronto Int. Film Festival photos every day as we anticipate the opening of the festival on September 10.

Here’s your first look at Natalie Portman in “Love and Other Impossible Pursuits.” Directed by Don Roos (“The Opposite of Sex”), the picture chronicles the life of a home-wrecker of sorts. According to TIFF, “after winning Jack (Scott Cohen) away from his wife Carolyn (Lisa Kudrow), [Portman’s character] finds herself immersed in the cross-currents of a new hybrid family.
