The Recording Academy handed out the winners of the 2019 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night and a number of the early awards went to movie-centric nominees.

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper won Best Song Written For Visual Media for “Shallow” from “A Star is Born.” Ludwig Göransson work for “Black Panther” won Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media and “The Greatest Showman” took best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media.

One anecdote you hear time and time again about Quincy Jones is how personable he is. No matter who you are, what you are doing or where you are from, he will engage directly with you. Michael Moore has another documentary coming out this year, and his sights are aimed squarely on the White House, yet again. Back in 2004, the director premiered his doc “Fahrenheit 9/11” at the Cannes Film Festival, where it went on to win the coveted Palme d’Or. From there, the George W. Bush takedown went on to become the highest grossing documentary of all time.
