There are rumors that we want to desperately believe. There are rumors we hope are completely wrong. And then there are rumors that make us scratch our head and question everything we know about life. Page Six recently posted a rumor that is so strange, but also obvious, that we just couldn’t sit by and not share it with our readers.

According to an interview with a Queen music video director (and supposed close, personal friend to the band) Rudi Dolezal, the band is currently discussing ways to create a “Bohemian Rhapsody” sequel.

Before the telecast even kicked off last night, there was already a lot of talk surrounding the Oscars Best Original Song performances. Originally rumored to only feature performances by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper singing “Shallow,” as well as Kendrick Lamar and SZA performing “All the Stars,” the actual telecast featured the former, but not the latter, complemented by several other performances that range from “meh” to “good.”

The 2019 Oscars kicked off with a huge performance by Queen (with Adam Lambert providing vocals).

There are many in the industry who believed filmmaker and producer Bryan Singer would be the subject of a wave of news reports, but the announcement that 20th Century Fox shut down his Freddie Mercury and Queen Biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody” wasn’t the expected reason why.

In a statement to the media, Fox said only the following: “Twentieth Century Fox Film has temporarily halted production on Bohemian Rhapsody due to the unexpected unavailability of Bryan Singer.”

A representative for Singer told the BBC the absence was due to “a personal health matter concerning Bryan and his family.”

No matter the case, Singer has clearly tested the patient of the studio and the film’s star, Rami Malek.

Sure, the film suffered from far too many music montages (which acted in lieu of proper transitions it seems), but the choices of the music itself was pretty solid.

We revealed the soundtrack details exclusively back in March, which included nice, atypical deep cuts by The Band (their cover of Bob Dylan’s “When I Paint My Masterpiece” opens the film with thematic delusional greatness) defunct British noise rockers McClusky, ’60s British mod act, The Action, gnarly Chicago punk rockers, The Dwarves and the trailer songs by The Yardbirds and ’70s British progressive jazz-rockers Patto.
