You’ve got to hand it to Ryan Murphy and his deal with Netflix. Some creators sign deals and nothing happens (the “Game Of Thrones” showrunners who turned up with nothing when they were supposed to start a “Star Wars” trilogy). The ultra prolific Murphy, however, he’s had a glut of shows (and movies) already, “Ratched,” “Hollywood,” “The Politician,” “Boys In The Band” and more coming.

When it was announced, Ryan Murphy’s forthcoming musical film, “Prom,” sported an insanely talented cast, led by Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, Kerry Washington, and more, and seemed like a surefire hit for Netflix. However, just three days before the film was done with production, COVID struck and everything was shut down. Luckily for film fans, especially those who enjoy the bright, colorful worlds that Ryan Murphy creates, “Prom” was able to finish production four months later and is now being prepped for a December release.
