Blumhouse Productions has once again scored another big hit with “Happy Death Day.” Made for a mere $4.8 million, the Universal distributed movie hauled in $26.5 million.

Greg is back home from Telluride, Jessica is still pounding the pavement in Venice, and I’m getting my bags packed for Toronto, but you better believe there is much more to come from the fall festival season. And the folks at Fantastic Fest have served up their final wave of programming and it’s impressive stuff.

Organizers have nabbed the World Premiere of the Netflix action flick “Wheelman” starring Frank Grillo, as well as Don Hertzfeltd‘s “World Of Tomorrow: Episode Two — The Burden Of Other People’s Thoughts” (love that title).

This morning, the Toronto International Film Festival unwrapped their first wave of titles, and their 2017 lineup is looking very impressive out of the gate.

It’s auteurs and high profile titles left and right, with plenty of dive into. Right at the top of our must-see list is Darren Aronofsky‘s “mother!” starring Jennifer Lawrence, with Scott Cooper‘s “Hostiles” starring Christian Bale, and Sebastian Lelio‘s “Disobedience” high on our list.

Thus far, Annapurna has been playing it pretty cagey when it comes to “Professor Marston & The Wonder Women.” Certainly, the title does a lot of the heavy lifting, particularly when a certain DC Films effort is dominating the box office. But now, the curtain is being lifted just a little bit more.

Written and directed by Angela Robinson (“The L Word,” “True Blood“) and starring Luke Evans, Bella Heathcote, and Rebecca Hall, the biopic will detail the unconventional life of the titular Harvard psychologist who invented the lie detector, engaged in a polyamorous relationship, and created the iconic Wonder Woman character — which he based on the relationships with the women in his life.
