And one of the hottest films expected to make a push later this year is “September 5.” The period thriller about the ABC Sports crew that covered the 1972 Munich Olympics hostage crisis was picked up by Paramount Pictures and will make it into theaters in November, with an expected wider release in December. Reviews for the movie have been very positive thus far, with The Hollywood Reporter calling it “an enlightening, altogether gripping experience.” There have been comparisons to similarly compelling newsroom dramas like “All the President’s Men” and “Spotlight.”

Like those films mentioned, particular praise may appear in the form of Oscar nominations early next year.

He’s a family man, a really talented actor, and super pleasant. So you can understand why someone might let them into their house as a cook. But in the new film “Coup,” that was a big mistake.

Kelley would find his way back to the work of Scott Turow, one of the most popular authors of his era. They’re kindred spirits in a sense, both former attorneys who used their legal expertise to craft bestselling books or highly-rated TV mysteries. Turow came out of the gates on fire with a book that he would never really top in terms of popularity, 1987’s “Presumed Innocent,” made into a hit film with Harrison Ford in 1990 and now remade 34 years later as an Apple TV+ mini-series with Jake Gyllenhaal in the role of an ace prosecutor turned #1 suspect.

Or is it? Readers may judge for themselves after they peruse the first-look pics from Maggie Gyllenhaal‘s “The Bride!” below. Gyllenhaal took to Instagram today to promote her upcoming film, featuring two stills of its leading stars, Christian Bale and Jessie Buckley. And from the looks of things, Gyllenhaal’s partner Peter Sarsgaard, who also stars in the project, wasn’t lying when he told The Independent that “The Bride!” is a “punk monster movie.” Just look at Bale in that pic: is that cool or “Jared Leto in “Suicide Squad” cool?

Venice has had an amazing run, arguably since 2017 when Guillermo del Toro’s “The Shape Of Water” won the top prize and then went on to win the Oscar for Best Picture, which has happened one more time since with “Nomadland” and several key Oscar contenders since).

If you’re not one of the Chrises (Pratt, Pine, Evans, Hemsworth) or the latest Marvel Studios project, then it’s not on many people’s radar. This is a shame, especially when you consider the upcoming horror film, “The Damning of a Country Merchant,” and who is leading the cast.

Even before his upcoming role in Matt Reeves’ “The Batman,” as shady District Attorney Gil Coulson, Sarsgaard went full-on villain for the oft-maligned Ryan Reynolds film, “Green Lantern” back in 2011. That film saw the actor bury himself under prosthetics to play Hector Hammond. And now, more than a decade later, he thinks that the world might have reached its saturation point with superhero films.

So many people have died due to what has now been proven to be a reckless solicitation of pain medication by pharmaceutical companies. Now, Hulu hopes to shed more light on the situation in its upcoming drama series, “Dopesick.”

Maybe this means Fuqua is better off without his toys and CGI and should reunite with Jake Gyllenhaal as often as possible.

But now, with the announcement of the supporting cast, it’s clear that “The Guilty” is going to be one of our most anticipated films of the next year.

face it, producer Jason Blum’s Blumhouse production company runs
the horror game in Hollywood and no one else comes close. The “Halloween”
franchise? Given to Blumhouse. Universal’s planned Monster-verse?
After its failure, Uni gave it to Blumhouse to pick apart and so far, (“The
Invisible Man”), it’s only been hits. Blumhouse makes relatively
inexpensive movies and turns major profits on movies.

Beginning her career as an assistant to directors Krzysztof Zanussi and Andrzej Wajda, at 71, the underrated filmmaker has really done it all. In the early aughts, her no-nonsense style of directing and visual storytelling got her TV jobs on “The Wire” and that lead to a lot of consistent and constant work on American TV shows—”The Killing,” “Treme,” “House Of Cards,” “The Affair” and dozens of other shows.
