About 73 seconds later, little Benedetta, the pious, doted-upon daughter of a wealthy lord who’s on her way to become a nun, performs her first “miracle” and gets a bird to shit magnificently into a guy’s eye — phew.

Eli Roth has spoken about his proposed upcoming feature film based on the “Grindhouse” trailer, “Thanksgiving.” “I just want to go, go, go. Get as much footage, and as many kills as possible, and not be self-conscious,” said the director about working fast like his buddy Tarantino did on the too-rushed, “Inglourious Basterds.” “When you’re moving at that speed, you’re not thinking, you’re just feeling and you’re going on instinct. And that’s where the best stuff comes from.” Like any studio is going to green light that 2 second joke, seriously.

In Los Angeles promoting “The Wrestler”, Darren Aronofsky gave some insight in to his vision for what he calls a “hardcore interpretation” of Paul Verhoeven’s sci-fi/black comedy “Robocop”.

Citing a recent medical procedure as inspiration for the remake, Aronofsky elaborated on what drew him to the project.

“Before you get an MRI, they give you a list of like 38 different things, how you can have metal in your body. From a shutter in your eyelid to a pacemaker, screws and all this stuff you can have in your system.

Leo! Scott! Russell! That’s got premeditated Oscar event written all over it, no? The international trailer for director Ridley Scott’s “Body of Lies” is out. He’s been kind of irking us these days making the same, near-3-hour epic Oscar-bait drama with A-list stars (Denzel, Crowe) over and over again (“American Gangster” was pretty disappointing and more of the same). The synop and trailer frankly, look like more of the same big, humorless dramas that appeal to old Academy voters (though not lately) and geek bloggers who kid themselves into thinking this is as good as drama gets.
