With a new movie in theaters today in “Arthur The King,” Mark Wahlberg is making the press rounds. And that includes a memorable stop-in with Josh Horowitz on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, where the actor talked about some of the biggest films in his career. Wahlberg had all kinds of anecdotes, like meeting James Cameron for “Titanic” and his bad haircut in “The Departed,” but one particular story stuck out: the irascible Burt Reynolds on the set of “Boogie Nights,” and a certain accent he used in a scene early in shooting.

It looks like “Inherent Vice” won’t be the last P.T. Anderson–Thomas Pynchon collaboration. After months of speculation, it appears that someone has confirmed just exactly what Anderson’s next film will be: an adaptation of Pynchon’s 1990 novel “Vineland.” But Daniel Richtman says the director’s adaptation will bring the novel up to present day, with newcomer Chase Infiniti co-starring with Leonardo DiCaprio.

For many years, Quentin Tarantino has promised he’ll retire after he directs his tenth feature film. And he’s already working on it, although production on “The Film Critic” will delayed as long as the SAG-AFTRA guild strike continues. And now a promising update on the ongoing crisis at Turner Classic Movies. EW reports that after Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, and P.T. Anderson‘s “emergency call” with Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav last week, TCM has rehired Charles Tabesh, its senior VP of programming and content strategy. And while Tabesh is just one of several TCM execs laid off last week, his return should assuage some of the fears that the network’s future was in doubt.
