It appears a new “hot project” is making its way around studios, with everyone eager to snatch it up. It’s “Calamity Hustle,” which isn’t based on an existing IP, nor is it some sort of big superhero thing. But when you hear who is attached, you’ll quickly understand why studios are reportedly offering huge cash to get their hands on it.

According to THR, Adam and Aaron Nee, the directing duo behind the hit action-rom-com “The Lost City,” are shopping around a new film they are writing and directing called “Calamity Hustle.” The real excitement is with the two leading men, as the film is expected to star Ryan Reynolds and Channing Tatum.

You don’t have to be a fan of rom-coms (and this writer is definitely not a fan) to enjoy “The Proposal.” The film, which stars Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock, has the two performers at the top of their charismatic games in a silly, but genuinely funny rom-com. Plus, there’s Betty White! But that film is more than a decade ago and if anything, Reynolds and Bullock’s stars have only risen higher, which is what makes the forthcoming Paramount film, “The Lost City of D,” all the more enticing.

The long-in-development “Masters of the Universe” film looks like it’s getting closer than ever to becoming a reality. According to Variety, Sony has signed Aaron and Adam Nee to direct the sci-fi/fantasy film based on the popular ‘80s cartoon and toy line.

“Masters of the Universe,” aka “The He-Man Cartoon,” follows the story of He-Man as he defends the land of Eternia from the evil Skeletor.
