If you’re hoping that Disney is going to come up with a ton of new, original IP for its Disney+ streaming service, you’re absolutely crazy. Why would the biggest studio on the planet try to reinvent the wheel when it has a car sitting on wheels made of Pixar, Marvel, “Star Wars,” and its own Disney library? Don’t be silly. And with that, it’s time to announce the next big Disney+ project, a reimagining of “National Treasure.” Yep, “National Treasure.”

According to Deadline, Disney+ has given the green light to a 10-episode first season of “National Treasure,” inspired by the original film franchise starring Nicolas Cage.

If there isn’t already, there ought to be an improbably long German compound word to describe the slightly panicky, drowning feeling of overwhelmed anticipation that is one’s natural state when contemplating just how much good TV there is out there — and that’s even before additional shows like this week’s “GLOW” and “The Mist” have been piled onto the queue. Add in an appreciation of just how few hours there are in a day, and just how much “other stuff” one is supposed to be doing with one’s life, and the prospect of even making a dent in the mountain of unwatched Golden Age TV can actually trigger a full-blown panic attack.

It’s sort of hard to believe, but “Veep” finally won a Peabody Award today. The critically acclaimed HBO series won for its fifth season as The Peabody Awards Board of Jurors announced seven winners in the entertainment category for the 76th Peabody Awards. The bigger news, however, is that the Peabody Awards really like Louis C.K. Seriously, they really like him.

The other winners besides “Veep” this year included Donald Glover‘s “Atlanta” (expected), Louis C.K.
