It’s not often you see a movie open where a rock star performs cunnilingus with gusto in the middle of a party, while the singer of the band doggy style fucks another and then said groupie squirts across the room in stuttering slow motion to an eruption of rowdy cheers. But hey, this is the story of Mötley Crüe, and these dirtbag lowlifes are obviously a classy bunch. Because, if you take classic tales of debauched hedonism— Led Zeppelin’s Hammer of the Gods, Aerosmith’s Walk This Way, and even Marilyn Manson’s The Long Hard Road Out of Hell— Mötley Crüe’s The Dirt: Confessions of the World’s Most Notorious Rock Band, takes the cake.

‘The Dirt’ Trailer: Netflix’s Mötley Crüe Biopic Will Kick Start Your Heart

As an event picture surrounded by controversy and expectations, “Bohemian Rhapsody” garnered a wealth of attention, box office and surprisingly–to much of the film world’s dismay–Golden Globe awards. However, as a musical biopic, like “Walk the Line” and “Straight Outta Compton” before it, the film stayed safely within its lane. Much is known about Sacha Baron Cohen’s early iteration that promised to be no-holds-barred and truthfully revealing with Queen’s biography.

‘Hot Tub Time Machine’ Soundtrack Is Appropriately ’80s Heavy Featuring New Order, Talking Heads, David Bowie, INXS & More

We’re the first to admit that we’re definitely anticipating “Hot Tub Time Machine” more than we thought we’d ever be. On paper, it sounds like the dumbest movie ever, okay, even in execution it’s probably the dumbest movie ever, but goddamn if we haven’t been chuckling to the trailers and clips that have hit the web in the lead up to the film’s March 26th release date.

As you probably know by now, the film follows four dudes (John Cusack, Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson & Clark Duke) who are zapped back to the ’80s thanks to a wacky hot tub.

Director Larry Charles Says Mötley Crüe Film, ‘The Dirt’ Is Dead For Him, Calls The Band “Crappy”

We all remember the long-gestating Mötley Crüe biopic, “The Dirt,” that’s been in development for over six years. Last we heard the Crüe themselves were pissed at MTV Films for having never gotten the film off the ground and wanted to take back project and shop it around to another studio.

Once attached to the film was director Larry Charles (“Religulous,” “Borat”), but according to an interview with Coming Soon (via Slash), said he doesn’t know what’s happening with the film and he sounds like he’s no longer attached to it.

Darren Aronofsky’s ‘The Wrestler’ To Diss Sad-Sack Kurt Cobain; Film Might Be Full Of ’80s Hair Metal Too

We just re-read the script to Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming film “The Wrestler” (full review coming imminently). Written by Robert D. Siegel (who penned the unfortunate “The Onion” movie), it’s a strange film for Aronofsky to tackle on the outside, but once you get deeper in, you see the drama that intrigued the notable director.

It’s also quite humorous in spots. One part that’s pretty hilarious is a scene where the wrestler (played by Mickey Rourke obviously modelled after ‘8os WWF star Randy “Macho Man” Savage) laments where music has gone these days and pines for the days of ‘The Crüe,” and in his extended rant he takes dead aim at ’90s grunge sad-sack Kurt Cobain of Nirvana.

Motley Crue Want MTV Films Out Of The Picture On Long-Developing ‘Dirt’ Biopic

After years of script re-writes and stalled pre-production Motley Crue’s self-developed biopic of their deliciously scandalous 2001 bio, “The Dirt,” (written by sarger Neil Strauss) has still not reached the big-screen and the members of the aging rockers – particularly unofficial mouthpiece, bassist Nikki Sixx – are pissed.

In 2006, the Crue and MTV Films announced a deal to develop the project, but it looks like the “Smoking In the Boys Room” rockers want out.

Nikki Sixx Says Motley Crue ‘Dirt’ Film In Holding Pattern; Not Going For An X-Rating

Talking to Blender’s audience recently in their “Dear Superstar” (the column readers right in and ask rockers questions which they answer), Nikki Sixx recently answered some questions about the status of their tell-all book, “The Dirt“‘s, cinematic adaptation and frankly, he didn’t sound very optimistic.

“I don’t know [its status] yet,” Sixx told curious Blender readers. “We keep having director problems and script rewrites. It’s a pain in the ass.” Sixx said he wants the film to take some creative risks and not have household names in the parts of the Crue.
