On his first date with Michelle Robinson, who would eventually take his surname, Barack Obama took her to see Spike Lee‘s “Do The Right Thing.” And so began a relationship that would span decades, lead to the White House, and many more movie dates to come, including an evening with “Monster Trucks.”

THR has dug up some of the movie requests the White House sent out during the Obama years, and apparently, he loved watching pretty much anything and everything Hollywood had to offer.

With Paramount‘s accounting department already steeling themselves for the reported $115 million loss they’re going to take on “Monster Trucks,” it kinda makes you wonder why they’re going through the whole charade of cutting trailers and releasing the movie. But I guess there are some contractual obligations to be met. At any rate, a new trailer for the film is here, and yes, it still looks terrible.

Lucas Till, Jane Levy, Holt McCallany, Barry Pepper, Tucker Albrizzi, Danny Glover, Amy Ryan, Rob Lowe, Frank Whaley, and Thomas Lennon will all be eager to bury this on their CV, with the movie following a young man and the rubbery creature who becomes his friend, and gets him out of various spots of trouble.

The buzz on the Paramount Pictures release already wasn’t so hot given they had shifted the release date three times, and the trailer confirmed the movie as a misguided, CGI filled concoction about a kid, a monster truck, and a Flubber like creature.

Oh right, “Monster Trucks.” I have to be honest, I sort of forgot/didn’t care that this movie was happening. And considering it shot way back in 2014, and was originally supposed to come out last year, perhaps it’s not a surprise it fell off the radar. But indeed, it’s on the way, and it looks pretty batshit.

Lucas Till, Jane Levy, Holt McCallany, Barry Pepper, Tucker Albrizzi, Danny Glover, Amy Ryan, Rob Lowe, Frank Whaley, and Thomas Lennon were all somehow convinced by their agents to star in this movie from Chris Wedge, the director of “Ice Age,” about a creature that looks like Flubber who makes trucks go real fast and jump and stuff.
