While watching Academy Award-nominated “The Banshees of Inisherin,” whenever I thought I would cry, I would laugh at the next scene as the film cleverly balanced comedy and melancholy. One element of the storytelling that helped guide that balance was the soundtrack composed by Carter Burwell.
