After the creator of “Arrested Development,” Mitch Hurwitz, went public earlier this month to announce plans for a “remixed” season 4 of the series, fans were elated. The original format of season 4 included 15 extra-long episodes that each focused on a different cast member. This decision was chalked up to a budgetary/scheduling decision but ultimately the changes fell flat with audiences.

There’s good news and bad news about “Arrested Development.” The good news is that season 5 is coming. And apparently, it’s right around the corner. The bad news is…well not really that bad, honestly. The second bit of news is about season 4.

To say that Season 4 of “Arrested Development” wasn’t as well-received as previous seasons would be a gross understatement. The story of the Bluth family was widely regarded as one of the best comedies on TV, which led Netflix to revive the show for the ill-fated season 4.

It looks like there’s still money left in the banana stand. Jason Bateman took to twitter this evening to announce the “probable” return of the Bluth family for “Arrested Development” season 5.

“Looks very probable I’m going to put some miles on the Stair Car this summer,” Bateman wrote in reference to the Bluth family vehicle featured in all of the past seasons. “Just officially signed on to more ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT today.”

Presumably the “probable” indicates that the summer start date could be up in the air, but if Bateman, the star of the show, is back in the fold, one should assume the rest of the cast — who all love the show dearly — will return too.
