A far cry from HBO’s other youth-centered show (that would be the visceral and brazen “Euphoria”), HBO’s newest attempt at catching the Gen-Z zeitgeist, “Industry,” hews closer to the short-lived “How to Make it in America,” both in treating the professional and sexual lives of 20-somethings as semi-interesting dramatic fodder, and in terms of quality, as the two shows are (or were, in the case of “America”) workmanlike and, ultimately, forgettable.

Lena Dunham is returning to HBO, but not in the type of series you’d expect from the filmmaker. The “Girls” creator is veering from her typical, female-focused drama roots and venturing into the world of competitive international finance, in the new series “Industry.”
