Women are afraid that men will kill them.” This age-old discrepancy in the way the two genders experience the world is written both at the initial frame and very heart of Susanna Fogel’s mercurial “Cat Person,” a fiendishly playful relationship-gone-bad quasi-thriller with a sense of humor about its own unknowability. The two parties (who are barely in a relationship) are a beautiful, inquisitive 20-year-old college student testing the limits of her own sexual powers and a painfully average thirtysomething guy dying to impress her via clueless means.

Actor Colin Firth is no stranger to war films having played a general in Sam Mendes‘ fantastically shot WWI pic “1917” and is taking a bigger role with his new film “Operation Mincemeat” taking place during WWII, a particularly brutal campaign for the Britsh as they had endured bombardments from German war planes while North American allies weren’t as exposed to the Nazi war machine as British citizens were.

AMC has made it abundantly clear that the deal with Anne Rice for the TV rights to a swath of her novels is all part of a master plan to populate its network and streaming platform with the latest, greatest TV franchise. And AMC is already making good on its promise by developing the second Anne Rice series of the year, with “Lives of the Mayfair Witches.”

According to THR, AMC has brought on Esta Spalding and Michelle Ashford to writer and executive produce a series based on the “Lives of the Mayfair Witches” trilogy of novels.
