While you might expect “The Walking Dead” or “Interview With the Vampire” to be the most-watched show on AMC+, the streamer announced last year that “Mayfair Witches,” starring Alexandra Daddario, is the most-viewed season of any series ever on AMC+. And with that, they quickly announced season two, which is right around the corner.

Last month at New York Comic Con, AMC Networks announced that the anticipated second season of “Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches” will premiere on January 5, 2025, on AMC and AMC+.

A new year means a new barrage of television shows requiring instant viewing. While we’ve polished off all of our end-of-year lists for 2022, Hollywood refuses to slow down with both returns of highly anticipated series as well as welcomed new shows to dig into. Rian Johnson makes his return to television with Natasha Lyonne as his star, while filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn also takes another stab at a miniseries with his latest, “Copenhagen Cowboy.” Fan favorite shows such as “Servant” and “Hunters” arrive for their final seasons while Hirokazu Kore-eda makes his television debut through an original Netflix series.

One of the most pleasant surprises of 2022 is probably just how good AMC’s “Interview with the Vampire” actually is. Season 1 took many off-guard with its really strong retelling of the classic Anne Rice tale. So, even though the idea of an Anne Rice cinematic universe seemed unnecessary a year ago, there are now a lot of folks excited to see how it gets built out over the next few years.

AMC has gone all in on Anne Rice. Since its 2020 acquisition of the author’s iconic catalog – including both “The Lives of the Mayfair Witches” series and the more famous “The Vampire Chronicles” series – the network has already renewed “Interview with the Vampire” for a second season on the heels of its acclaimed October 2 debut.

Next up to bat is “Mayfair Witches,” the first season of which will presumably be adapted from Anne Rice’s “The Witching Hour.” Here’s the show’s official synopsis:

“‘Mayfair Witches’ focuses on an intuitive young neurosurgeon, Rowan, who discovers that she is the unlikely heir to a family of witches.
