Dustin Lance Black has been tapped to scribe the screenplay for the 20th Century Fox and Rough House Pictures adaptation of the Barefoot Bandit story with David Gordon Green now officially in final talks to direct.

The capture of Colton Harris-Moore, better known as the Barefoot Bandit, has brought an end to a three-year chase that saw the fugitive earn global status as a cult hero, but has also seemingly provided David Gordon Green’s adaptation of the story with a worthy conclusion.

The modern-day Robin Hood’s run finally ended with “a high-speed chase, by boat, with police” in the Bahamas after Harris-Moore found his way to the Caribbean courtesy of a crash-landed stolen plane.

Danny McBride and Mandate Pictures are loving their working relationship so far.

They already have the action comedy project, “L.A.P.I.” in development with McBride’s BFF director pal Jody Hill (“Observe & Report”) and now they’ve just announced another project.

This one, according to THR and Deadline is a comedy based on on an original idea by McBride “about two brothers who finally get a comeuppance after bullying people their whole lives.”

The script is being penned by “Yes Man” scribes Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul.

Do we all remember Seth Rogen’s new-ish project, “I’m With Cancer,” a comedic autobiographical script by Will Reiser (an associate producer on episodes of “Da Ali G Show”) that he and his writing partner Evan Goldberg will produce with Ben Karlin (“The Daily Show With Jon Stewart”) that was announced last November?

Don’t worry, it’s not like they’ve just picked some random ailment to laugh in the face at. The story is Reiser’s account of struggling to beat cancer, centering on a 25-year-old who finds out he has the disease.
