A report from the usually reliable Cinelinx states that Misha Green (“Lovecraft Country“) is currently writing a project (could be a film or series) that will focus on Jurnee Smollett‘s Black Canary from “Birds of Prey.” The pair had previously worked together on “Lovecraft Country,” so a reunion would make sense on paper.

If you’re looking for any hints on what programs may dominate the Limited Series or Drama Series Emmy nominations look no further than the 2021 BAFTA TV Awards nominations. While the pool of contenders is not as uniform as the film side in regards to Emmy season, the nominations were still very good news for two big Amazon and Netflix contenders. Slightly delayed due to the pandemic, the American Film Institute announced their annual top 10 lists for 2020, and, as always, there were numerous surprises. Long hyped Oscar contenders such as “Nomadland,” “Minari” and “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” made the list, but so did underdogs such as “Sound of Metal” and “Da 5 Bloods.” On the television side, it was more predictable with only recent seasons of “Ramy” and “What We Do In Shadows” and newcomers such as “The Undoing,” “Never Have I Ever” and “P Valley” among the snubs.
