The tracklist for Michael Bay’s “Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen” soundtrack has been released and true to nature it’s full of delicate and nuanced moments of musical restraint and poise.

Just kidding. The energy-drink enthusiast/ testosterone-fueled adrenaline junkie has tapped an entire who’s who of bad, modern rock including his Linkin Park buddies (who wrote some of the score with Hans Zimmer), Taking Back Sunday, The Used, plus bad post-grunge, Stain, Nickelback, and toothless radio-ready wimp rock, Hoobastank and The Fray.

Linkin Park Writing ‘Transformers 2’ Score With Hans Zimmer

Testosterone-fueled aggro rap rockers, Linkin Park have announced via member Mike Shinoda’s blog that they will be writing the score for Michael Bay’s testosterone-fueled “Transformers” sequel, the sure-to-be aggro, “Transformers: Revenge Of the Fallen.”

Though composer Steve Jablonsky (who scored Bay’s last “Transformers” film) is still noted as the composer for the ‘Revenge of the Fallen,’ on UpcomingFilmScores and IMDB, it appears its “The Dark Knight,” composer Hans Zimmer who has got the sequel gig.

We here at The Playlist like to remind you that our tastes run towards the brie-&-wine set more often than not. Still, there is something to be said about the pleasures of a debauched cinematic genre experience. And while there’s no clear consensus on this at The Playlist, sometimes there’s an action project that jumps out at us as something that’s going to do new and startlingly different things with the genre.

Case in point: the audience-friendly “Crank 2: High Voltage” trailer was shown in front of “My Bloody Valentine 3D” this weekend.

‘Twilight’ Soundtrack Launches To #1 Spot On Billboard Charts

What does this teach us? Make fun of it all you want, but don’t underestimate “Twilight.” The vampire-tween cultural phenomenon just exhibited its zeitgeist power and influence once again by capturing the No. 1 spot on the Billboard charts today, debuting on the top (and knocking off AC/DC) with 164,700 copies sold in its first week on store shelves.

Those numbers help it become the the year’s third soundtrack to top the chart, following “Mama Mia” and the uber-successful, “Juno” soundtrack.

‘Twilight’ Soundtrack To Feature Muse, Linkin Park, Iron & Wine, Black Ghosts, And Paramore On November 4

MTV unveiled the soundtrack tracklist for the upcoming tween vampire flick “Twilight,” directed by Catherine Hardwicke (“Thirteen”) and starring Kristen Stewart.

We already knew that the soundtrack would include pop-punk band Paramore, ex Jane’s AddictionPerry Farrell frontman and Linkin Park, and rounding out the 12-track disc are appearances by British rockers Muse, U.S. radio-ready alt-rockers Collective Soul, Mute Math, U.K. electro duo Black Ghosts, indie folk act, Iron & Wine, score composer Carter Burwell and “Twilight” actor and hottie, Robert Pattinson whose version of “Bella’s Lullaby” was replaced, but his rendition of “Never Think” made the album cut.
