We’re now entering Phase Two of Jude Law, Leading Man. His receding hairline, questionable choice in projects and real-life bedroom peccadillos had threatened to turn one of the prettiest pear-faces in Hollywood into an also-ran, a supporting actor… a STAGE actor! Had “Sherlock Holmes,” where Law plays a vanity-less sidekick not hit as big, it would stand to reason that his current star vehicle, “Repo Men,” would probably be dumped to disc after a long gestation period in the Universal vaults, a condemnation of sorts, but not with the format having the stigma it once bore in the early aughts.

Chiwetel Ejiofor Gets A Pinch Of ‘Salt’

We missed this for the Oscar audience, but with filming set to start on the action blockbuster “Salt,” the cast has fattened up considerably.

Previously, it was announced that Liev Schrieber, no stranger to the cloak and daggery of spy work having played John Clark in “The Sum Of All Fears.” Schrieber is set to play the boss of besieged government agent Evelyn Salt (Angelina Jolie) when she becomes the target of a massive conspiracy implicating her in a presidential assassination.

Ang Lee’s ‘Gay Woodstock’ Film Starts to Take Shape

Remember Ang Lee’s “gay Woodstock” movie (“Taking Woodstock” that was reported a few months ago?

Well, it’s starting to coalesce. Young (and very droll and excellent) comedian Demetri Martin (“The Daily Show With Jon Stewart”) has already signed on to play an aspiring interior designer and Variety reports that the cast has been rounded out by Emile Hirsch, Liev Schrieber and Imelda Staunton (Dolores Umbridge from the Harry Potter” movies among many British kitchen-sink dramas)

“In summer 1969, [Martin] finds himself at the center of a generation-defining experience when he volunteered the motel to be the home base for Woodstock concert organizers after his neighbor, Max Yasgur, made his farm available for the event.”

Staunton and Henry Goodman will play Martin’s parents, Hirsch play a Vietnam vet, Schreiber will likely tackle the role of a transvetite (!) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan from “Watchmen” (The Comedian) will play a closeted man who has an affair with the young Martin.

Will I. AM To Make Acting Debut In ‘X-Men’ Spin-Off ‘Wolverine’ Feature

As much as we love to try and ignore comic book movies…

So it seems that Black Eyed Peas cheeseball Will I. Am is going to make his feature-length acting debut in the “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” film that’s being spun-off from the “X-Men” series.

You’d think after three movies Hugh Jackman would be sick of this hirsute and irritable character, but apparently he’s game for yet another Mcfranchise (this one could easily take on the life of three more films).

– Wu-Tang chieftan the RZA will be joining Jude Law, Liev Schrieber and Forest Whitaker for “Repossession Mambo,” a sci-fi drama set in a future where artificial organs are easily up for credit card purchase, but also, easily up for repossession if you fall behind on your payments. “I play a music producer who is strung out on drugs, and I can’t afford to pay my bills. They’ve got to repossess my heart,” the producer/actor said.
