British filmmaker Matthew Vaughn (“Layer Cake”) was out and about promoting his upcoming Apple-made spy action pic “Argylle” at the New York Comic-Con over the weekend and dished about a handful of the forthcoming projects in various stages, including what is going on with the “Kingsman” franchise alongside confirming plans are indeed moving along with development for a reboot of his 2010 film “Kick-Ass.”

Those tidbits were collected by Deadline, who attended the “Argylle” panel where Vaughn revealed that “Kingsman 3” with Taron Egerton and Colin Firth is still apparently on the books, hopefully before the two of them get too old to make it.

Believe it or not, it’s been 13 years since Matthew Vaughn has directed a film that doesn’t have comic book ties. It was 2007’s “Stardust” (which is actually based on a Neil Gaiman property, so there is a bit of a comic book angle there) that allowed Vaughn the opportunity to build a film that didn’t rely on some sort of comic book origins. Since then, the filmmaker has done “Kick-Ass,” “X-Men: First Class,” and multiple ‘Kingsman’ films, including the upcoming prequel, “The King’s Man.” And as he explained to Empire, he might not be done working with comic book films just yet.

And those assets include some of the biggest franchises in the world.

Many fans — in particular the ones who have yearned to see the previously owned Fox/Marvel characters all under one roof and the control of Marvel Studio‘s Kevin Feige — are ecstatic, but the already-immense Disney owning and absorbing yet another huge movie studios is definitely cause for pause and even alarm.

If one made a list of all the film producers turned successful film directors, British filmmaker Matthew Vaughn might be at the very top of that list. The director, who started out as Guy Ritchie’s producer and then began to chart his own path with the similar British crime film “Layer Cake,” has arguably surpassed his former collaborator. Vaughn’s already created two mega-million dollar franchises—the “Kingsman” spy series and the “Kick-Ass” comic books series—while taking on major studio work like rebooting the “X-Men” series and adapting the celebrated graphic novel “Stardust.” He’s also just recently launched his own mini-studio called Marv Studios, and he plans on charting his future through it.
