So we’ve already revealed the soundtrack details for “The Runaways” film and you’ve already heard the Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart-sung version of “Cherry Bomb” (the girls play Cherie Currie and Joan Jett from the seminal ’70s L.A. girl-rock band).

So now here’s the actual music video, which is directed by Floria Sigismondi, in that it is ripped straight out of the film (where the song pretty much plays out in full, music-video style).

‘Runaways’ “Cherry Bomb” Sung By Dakota Fanning Leaked, Plus New Poster & Trailer

So we’ve already revealed the soundtrack details to “The Runaways” and the fact that Dakota Fanning herself (who plays lead singer Cherie Currie), sings four tracks on the CD (and presumably in the movie as well), including, “Cherry Bomb,” “California Paradise” plus “Queens of Noise” and “Dead End Justice.” Kristen Stewart joins her on the tracks, as she obviously plays Joan Jett in the picture.

And now Vulture have dug up a “Cherry Bomb” leak on YouTube.

‘The Runaways’ Soundtrack Features David Bowie, MC5, Sex Pistols & (Of Course) The Runaways

The soundtrack to the forthcoming “The Runaways” biopic has been revealed and it’s pretty much what you might expect, though that’s not a bad thing at all.

The ’70s based rock saga about Joan Jett’s all-girl teen rock band earned mixed reviews when it premiered at Sundance, though it seemed everyone agreed that Michael Shannon steals the show as the sleazebag manager/promoter Kim Fowley.

But whatever the merits of the film, the soundtrack seems like a solid evocation of the period featuring tracks by David Bowie, MC5, The Stooges, Sex Pistols and (duh) The Runaways.

‘The Runaways’ Teaser Trailer Arrives

“Go sell Girl Scout cookies,” somebody says in the very brief, somewhat on-the-nose teaser trailer for Floria Sigismondi’s directorial debut “The Runaways,” the biopic about the short lived girl punk band that launched the careers (most famously) of Joan Jett, Micki Steele and Lita Ford. It’s only fifty seconds long, so there isn’t much we can say about it. Dakota Fanning is pretty unrecognizable and her make up seems to be channeling Diane Lane’s Corinne Burns from “Ladies And Gentleman, The Fabulous Stains” (though hopefully “Runaways” is much better than that overrated cult film) and Kristen Stewart seems to have switched gears from moping in “Twilight” to raging here.

Yeah, it’s gossipy, but somehow we find it amusing, the idea that Joan Jett is so invested in getting the biopic of “The Runaways” right, she’s sitting on the sidelines grilling Kristen Stewart until she breaks down in tears. Or allegedly anyhow. You would think director, Floria Sigismondi would be like, “uuhh, fuck off?”

The two have been spotted together countless times, have become bff’s and apparently have been recording music for the soundtrack together as well.

In case you missed the memo or the raven-haired mullet picture flying around, the titular biopic of the ’70s all-girl punk rock group, “The Runaways” staring Kristen Stewart has started shooting.

Stewart is obviously playing guitarist Joan Jett, Dakota Fanning is playing lead singer Cherie Currie, lesser-known actress Stella Maeve is playing original drummer Sandy West, Michael Shannon will play their infamous scumbag manager/producer Kim Fowley and Alessandra Torresani will play rocker Lita Ford.

Former music video director Floria Sigismond’s biopic of the ’70s L.A.-based all girl band, eponymously titled “The Runaways” is essentially done its principal casting.

Kristen Stewart is obviously playing guitarist Joan Jett, Dakota Fanning is playing lead singer Cherie Currie, lesser-known actress Stella Maeve is playing original drummer Sandy West, and Michael Shannon will play their infamous scumbag manager/producer Kim Fowley.

Now the last major pieces of the puzzle has been set.

Dakota Fanning Playing Cheri Currie In ‘The Runaways’

“The Runaways,” the film profiling the all-girls 70’s band of the same name has added a new young star to play a drug addled rock star. According to Variety, Dakota Fanning has signed on to play lead signer Cheri Currie, continuing her muscling in on all of Kristen Stewart’s projects. Stewart who has already been pegged to play Joan Jett and Fanning is set to appear in the next installment of the “Twilight” series,.

Fanning, at 15, is the same age Currie was when she made her debut with the Runaways as the lead singer who is the voice behind the groups most famous hit, “Cherry Bomb.” Not long after her debut with the band, Currie developed a serious drug and alcohol problem, which is perfect for Fanning since she proved she played a great drunk in “Push.” The biopic is being written and directed by Floria Sigismondi, and it will begin production in late spring.

Kristen Stewart Correctly Identifies Joan Jett, Besting Most of Her Generation

Excellent news for punk rock revivalists and “Twilight” fans with an open mind: unlike Britney Spears, Kristen Stewart can correctly identify Joan Jett and apparently even hang with the punk rock legend. MTV talked to Stewart at Sundance and gleaned her excitement about starring as Jett in bio-pic “The Runaways.”

“Yeah, I spent New Year’s with her. I spent, like hours, just talking to her,” Stewart gushes to MTV, who extrapolated about her wild excitment…and it was actually kind of cute.

Going from the object of vampiric lust (with no consummation of course) in “Twilight” Kristen Stewart no has her eyes set on rock n’ roll adoration.

Remember former music video director Floria Sigusmondi’s long-planned, all-girl ’70s rock group, “Runaways” biopic? (we reported that back in early 2007)

Well, looks like Stewart has been cast as Joan Jett according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Last we heard (in the summer), the film was to begin shooting this fall, but looks like casting took a little longer than planned.

Floria Sigismondi’s ‘The Runaways’ Biopic Scheduled To Start In Late Fall

Check your dusty memory. Remember macabre video director Floria Sigismondi’s rock-biopic of the ’70s all-female rock band “The Runaways”?

Well, it’s finally found financing, via River Road Entertainment (“Brokeback Mountain,” “Lust, Caution”) and set to go into production in the late fall according to Variety. Joan Jett is one of the film’s executive producers, and casting hasn’t even started yet. Sigusmondi is best known for directing tenebrous and spooky videos by Marilyn Manson, David Bowie and Sigur Rós.
