The answer is Blumhouse’s “The Visitor.” Between a deal with EPIX and Blumhouse Television, the studio will be creating eight films set for streaming, one of these being “The Visitor.”

These were the days when gaming wasn’t an accepted mainstream practice, instead seen as a refuge for social misfits and potential school shooters; the people who knew “Mortal Kombat” were the ones playing it, and everyone else knew it from cultural pearl clutching.

Well, pick your poison. Would you rather engulf your opponent in flames or drop them onto a floor of spikes? These are just two choices for casual and hardcore gamers alike in “Mortal Kombat,” still going strong nearly 30 years later. Still, let’s not forget that the gratuitous violence in Ed Boon and John Tobias’ title helped paved the way for creating the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB).

Relying on muted headlights and murky water for its most effective scares, “Black Water: Abyss” is exactly what it sets out to be, and all the better for it, a thrilling continuation of an improbable franchise that doesn’t rely on the first film for anything other than inspiration.

More than a decade later, the story continues on with the same trend in the upcoming sequel “Black Water: Abyss.”

Over 30,000 people were on hand in the Houston Astrodome and reportedly 50 million watched it on television in the U.S. and 90 million worldwide. It was a signature moment for the women’s liberation movement at the time and was a monster marketing opportunity for women’s tennis. Unknown to many, however, was the personal journey King was undertaking.
