Alright, Gus Van Sant’s “Restless” has now become an untitled project. We’ll see how long that lasts. Remember when Noah Baumbach’s “Greenberg” became untitled and now all of a sudden Focus Films is calling it by its original title?

Don’t count it out yet. Meanwhile, the adolescent teen drama/ love story — which as we noted might be a strange, but good project for Van Sant as it’s also a bit of a dark comedy and features a weird ghost — that stars Mia Wasikowska, has finalized it’s casting which is good, because it starts filming today.

Update: Gus Van Sant Did Not Co-Direct Panther Video

Update: Ahh, there we go trusting Pitchfork’s Twitter feed, we should know better! A rep for Gus Vant Sant updates us and says the director did not co-direct this video. He was present on the day of the shoot, as were many friends and colleagues, but that’s it. He in no way co-directed the video shoot. The rep also gave us a shout saying, “nice eye for saying, ‘there’s nothing particularly Van Sant about this video.’ ” We called it… er sort of…

Gus Van Sant Set To Take On The Bryce Dallas Howard-Produced ‘Restless’

Did the “Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test” project slow down? Or is the script just not ready? And is this one for the studio in between or one for yourself?

Gus Van Sant is in negotiations to produce and direct first-timer Jason Lew’s screenplay “Restless.”

Described as a “contemporary and distinctive take on young love,” the film also has Brian Grazer, Ron Howard and Bryce Dallas Howard on board as producers.

The project first came together when Dallas Howard brought college friend Lew’s story to her father who then worked with the scribe and Imagine to develop the script from the original play.
