For whatever reason, each year, the major studios mostly avoid opening anything substantial in wide release on the weekend after Thanksgiving. I still don’t understand why, especially considering the onslaught of movies that are coming in the rest of December, but that’s just fine for Disney, who kept hold of the top spot at the box office.

“Moana” comfortably stayed in the number one slot in its second week, with $28.3 million.

Yep, yet another possession movie. Hollywood seems to love their exorcism movies, and to be fair, audiences don’t seem to mind them either. And this fall comes another one, but it has a twist that will either be interesting or ludicrous or both.
