“Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origin” opens this Friday, July 23, and Paramount Pictures is making a final push for seeing the movie in theaters with a final trailer. Directed by Robert Schwentke, “Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origin” is a reboot of Paramount’s “G.I. Joe” universe that began with “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” in 2009 and ‘Retaliation‘ in 2013.

It doesn’t appear we’ll ever get “The Raid 3.” After the first two films were hugely successful, filmmaker Gareth Evans walked away from doing a third film to focus on other projects, leaving the franchise future in doubt. The closest thing we’ve gotten to any sort of new ‘Raid’ projects is the American remake, but even that has now turned into its own thing.

But according to Evans, who spoke to Empire, the filmmaker did have an idea for a third film, although he admits that fans might not have been super happy with it.

As seen in the new trailer, “Wu Assassins” features Uwais as a simple chef that gets imbued with the power of 1,000 monks to take on the evil that seems to be populating San Francisco.

Much has been written – and will continue to be written – about the problematic politics and jingoism of director Peter Berg’s recent output. It will be written by much more accomplished, more intelligent, and more informed, full-time journalists than this part-time tourist. But not enough will be written about how “Mile 22” — on its own merits — is a laughably bad film.

The screenplay — written by Lea Carpenter with a story from Carpenter and Stephen Levinson — might as well be Mark Wahlberg fan fiction.

Approximately one-third of those programs have a release date that has yet to be announced, including “Wu Assassins,” the company’s most recent original series announcement.

According to Deadline, “Wu Assassins” tells the story of a warrior chosen as the latest and last Wu Assassin, who must search for the powers of an ancient triad and restore balance in San Francisco’s Chinatown.
