Get Handcuffed To The New Trailer For Kinky Sequel ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ Starring Dakota Johnson & Jamie Dornan

To the surprise of no one, “Fifty Shades Darker” recently earned an R-rating for “strong erotic sexual content, some graphic nudity, and language.” Well, obviously. Universal isn’t messing with the steamy formula that saw them turn page-turning trash into big screen trash, with “Fifty Shades Of Grey” earning over $570 million worldwide. Can they titillate audiences again? They’re certainly going to try.

Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are back to take it off and get it on, in the sequel the unfolds the latest bedroom antics of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, with James Foley (“Glengarry Glen Ross,” “House Of Cards“) directing the hot and heavy action.

Maggie Gyllenhaal & Hugh Dancy Join Vibrator Comedy ‘Hysteria’

Maggie Gyllenhaal and Hugh Dancy are joining the already cast Jonathan Pryce and Rupert Everett in the period-based sex comedy (never thought we’d type that out), “Hysteria.”

The interesting premise will feature Dancy and Pryce as doctors in Victorian-era London “treating cases of hysteria, a condition said to be characterized at the time by a woman’s irritability, anger or unexplained tears. Dancy’s character and his best friend, portrayed by Everett, experiment with a new electrical device for treatment for the ailment.

In a project that is quickly rivaling “Horrible Bosses” for the most hilarious cast assembled ever, Steve Coogan has joined the currently shooting, “My Idiot Brother.”

The film, led by Paul Rudd and also starring Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel, Rashida Jones, Emily Mortimer, Adam Scott, Hugh Dancy, Kathryn Hahn, Shirley Knight and Janet Montgomery follows a sunny idealist (Rudd) who visits his three sisters and creates chaos in their lives. Coogan is set to join as a self-righteous documentary filmmaker.

Filming has recently kicked off on the indie comedy “My Idiot Brother,” and to celebrate, we got sent a press release with an official synopsis for the film that also revealed a few new cast members, and as if we weren’t excited about this one already, the new additions are equally strong. Paul Rudd was already in the lead role as a sunny idealist who visits his three sisters and creates chaos in their lives, with the I-want-to-go-to-there trio of Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel and Emily Mortimer as his sisters, and Rashida Jones and Adam Scott also on board.

Former stand-up comedian turned writer Gren Wells, who scripted the upcoming weepy-looking drama “Earthbound,” which stars Kate Hudson as a woman dying of terminal cancer who meets her true love, is now poised to gain a stronger foothold in Hollywood. Her new script “Cover Girl” is going into production and will be directed by Donald Petrie (“Miss Congeniality,” “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” and the recently reviled “My Life In Ruins”).

According to Production Weekly, the current cast includes Blake Lively (who has the upcoming Ben Affleck-directed “The Town” and comic-book adaptation “The Green Lantern”), Jim Sturgess (“Across The Universe” and the upcoming Peter Weir film “The Way Back,”) and Hugh Dancy (who will next star in Stephen Frear’s dramedy “Coach”).

‘Adam’: An Intimate Look At A Tortured Soul

After toiling in the world of theater and television for years, writer/director Max Meyer has finally come onto the film scene with his feature debut, “Adam,” which is a simple story about a lonely electrical engineer with Asperger Syndrome who, for the first time, experiences a romantic connection with his neighbor.

The tone of the film came as somewhat of a surprise to us, since the small marketing campaign seemed to sell the film as a romantic comedy set around a series of tragic events, a la “Garden State.” Though it is true that the film does carry some semblance of a romantic comedy, as the Asperger Syndrome inflicted protagonist, Adam, struggles to interact with his new neighbor Beth, who happens to be a beautiful, aspiring child literature author (played by Rose Byrne), the film does initially result in a good amount of awkward-moment humor, but as a whole is a somewhat depressing look into the daily hardships of those with Asperger syndrome and those that love them.

The soundtrack to the upcoming romantic comedy “Adam,” starring Hugh Dancy and Rose Byrne, hits shelves on July 28 and the Sundance-approved film hits theaters on July 29 via Fox Searchlight. Though, to note: it’s a boy meets girl story with a twist — boy has Asperger’s syndrome.

Released by Nettwerk records, the album seems to have a label tie-in featuring some of their acts like indie-pop n’ folks bands The Weepies, Lucy Schwartz, and a previously unreleased track from Miranda Lee Richards.

Sundance Watch: ‘Humpday’ And ‘Adam’ Both Sell

As we were just saying last night, mumblecore affiliate director Lynn Shelton’s buddy comedy”Humpday” has proven to be quite a crowd-pleasing hit at the ’09 Sundance Film Festival, so naturally, the film’s sale was announced this morning by Variety.

The film has been scooped up by indie Magnolia – where indie films go to die {kidding} – for a mid six figure deal. The film stars Duplass brother Mark, and Joshua Leonard as straight bff’s who plan to film themselves having sex for an art project.
