The way artificial intelligence (A.I.) is going to be used in the film industry is still relatively unknown. We know there’s a way for generative A.I. to perhaps write scripts. And over the past several months or so, we’ve seen A.I. create compelling videos. That said, it’s still up for debate about how creators or studios will use it in the process of filmmaking. Guillermo del Toro’s 2015 film, “Crimson Peak,” is a lot of things—a gothic romance, a showcase of amazing acting—but it is not a horror film. However, when you have a filmmaker like del Toro and an expensive film you want to sell, you might take some liberties in the marketing of the movie. But according to the filmmaker, that’s what ultimately doomed the movie. 

Speaking to Vulture, Guillermo del Toro talked, at length, about his 2015 film, “Crimson Peak.” And interestingly, with nearly a decade behind him, he’s able to pinpoint exactly the moment when he knew the film would struggle at the box office.

“The thing that will always, pun intended, haunt that movie is that it was sold as a horror movie,” said del Toro.

It feels like we’ve been talking about Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein” for a long time already. From the first rumblings to a confirmed cast, we have covered just about every aspect of this film that is in development. Well, it appears there’s one more bit of a shakeup before the feature finally begins production, and that includes a change at the top of the cast. 

According to Variety, Jacob Elordi has been added to the cast of Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein.” The actor is set to replace Andrew Garfield in the lead role as the monster in the film.
