Scott and Manohla Dargis have revealed their 25 Best Films of the 21st Century So Far. It’s not everyday you’ll see both Edward Yang‘s “Yi Yi” and Judd Apatow‘s “The 40 Year-Old Virgin” sharing the same space, which is kind of amazing.

Reading our Best of the Decade film lists, you’ve been asking us, “uhh, where in the hell are all the documentaries?”

Well, we didn’t want to ghettoize them in a lesser category, but we did want to give them their full due, so therefore here we are. This list is slightly different than our best of Decade list and tends to favor our favorite documentaries, rather than the ones we think are definitively the best, though we endorse every single doc here as well (perhaps a few in our last spots could be switched out for some of our honorable mention if we really thought about it; “To Be And To Have,” “49 Up” and “Lake Of Fire” being three docs we really admire).

Is this a thing now? In a week where we’ve already seen Owen Wilson taking on “Marmaduke” and Shawn Levy developing “The Berenstein Bears,” yet another CGI talking animal picture is on the way, in the form of Hanna-Barbera’s beloved “Yogi Bear”

Eric Brevig, who was behind last year’s surprisingly successful Brendan Fraser vehicle “Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D,” is directing, from a script by Joshua Sternin and Jeffrey Ventimilia, whose previous credits are “Surviving Christmas” and next year’s “The Tooth Fairy.” Which basically tells you everything you need to know.

Did you ever see Werner Herzog’s amazing documentary, “Grizzly Man”? (if not, run don’t walk) Well, the final episode of “The Grizzly Man Diaries” the sort-of prequel to the remarkable Herzog documentary airs on Animal Planet this Friday at 9 p.m. EST in the U.S. The series showcase tons of unused footage of the delusional fruitcake Timothy Treadwell, the bear-o-cologist/ wilderness “expert” who dropped out of society to hang out with grizzly bears only to be eaten by the hands of one when his fey, whiny voice ultimately became too unbearable.

Dream of “Californication”? David Duchovny has checked himself into rehab for sex addiction. Was he pulling an Eddie Murphy? Was he out with trannies and pulled a preemptive strike before getting caught? No wonder Tea Leoni has thrown herself full on into producing and starring in mediocre films.

Will Ferrell Was Almost Sort Of Killed By The ‘Semi-Pro’ Grizzly Bear

Do you remember that scene in “Semi-Pro” where Will Ferrell’s character wrestles a bear in hopes of increasing audience attendance for his pathetic basketball team the Michigan Tropics?

It’s a funny scene in an otherwise mirthless and forgettable film.

But yeah, so that Grizzly bear just killed someone, namely the trainer that worked with the animal on the set of the Ferrell comedy.

Ferrell actually (almost, not really) had a brush with death.
