OK, the big shocker of the week, at least in terms of superhero movies was the news that the Russo Brothers returned to Marvel Studios and seemingly will direct the next two ‘Avengers’ movies, the unofficially titled, “Avengers 5,” and “Avengers: Secret Wars.”

Although it might seem like a no-brainer on the surface, Anthony and Joe Russo directed four super-successful Marvel movies in a row: “Captain America: Winter Soldier,” “Captain America: Civil War,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” and “Avengers: Endgame.” The latter two are among the highest-grossing films of all time.

A little more than a year ago, before filming of Season 2 of “Batwoman” could begin, the series lead, Ruby Rose, announced that they were leaving the show and the titular superhero role. The announcement came as a complete shock for fans, most of who enjoyed their performance as Kate Kane, aka Batwoman. There were reasons given, mostly to do with Rose talking about previous injuries and not really wanting to continue on the series.

I must admit, I don’t know much about the psychological thriller television series “You” starring Penn Badgley and Victoria Pedretti. Developed by Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble (he does a lot of CW soap-opera-ish superhero stuff, but has a massive TV empire behind him), but the idea of a serial killer who falls in love with a customer, quickly develops an extreme, toxic, and delusional obsession, but then eventually marries her and has a baby with her, is kinda interesting, in a way that’s likely corny, but entertaining knowing the kind of fromage Berlanti usually produces.

TV producer-extraordinaire Greg Berlanti has lined up his next film project, and for its subject, he’s tackling one of the most famous and secretive subjects in Hollywood history.

Deadline is reporting that Universal has hired Berlanti to direct a film based on the life of actor Rock Hudson. The film will be inspired by the upcoming book “All That Heaven Allows: A Biography of Rock Hudson,” from author Mark Griffin.

We’re potentially getting a solo ‘Bat’ franchise set in Gotham on the CW, but it’s not what you think.

According to Deadline, CW is exploring the option of spinning off the upcoming debut of Batwoman into her own live-action series. The character is already set to debut in December as part of the annual Arrowverse crossover, but reports say that CW is looking for a much more permanent place for the female vigilante.
