In another timeline, Taylor Swift opened the brand new 70,000 seat Sofi Stadium in the summer of 2020. Unfortunately, COVID-19 made sure that didn’t happen in this world. Instead, the first public event at the stadium occurred eight months later and for an equally joyous occasion, the success of COVID vaccines in America and a light at the end of the tunnel for a pandemic that has taken 3.1 million lives worldwide. And that meant a glitzy taped event with high-energy musical performances for an in-person audience primarily of 20,000 or so frontline workers.
