That’s false, of course; the problems that exist now were always there, just swept under the rug. As the millennium came to an end, there was a permeation of “what’s left?” in the air. Much of the popular “angry” music at the time reflected this. Bands like Limp Bizkit and Korn captured a sort of overproduced, manufactured, and directionless rage felt by a large section of the youth, this writer unfortunately included.

As it was deemed a failure, it’s often overlooked and forgotten. “Woodstock 99: Peace, Love, and Rage” aims to change that. The new HBO documentary chronicles the story of Woodstock 99 — a three-day music festival meant to echo the ideals of the original 1969 festival. Instead, it devolved into riots, looting, and sexual assaults, earning it the distinction of killing the ’90s.

Narrated, in part, by Yelchin’s “Dying of the Light” collaborator, Nicholas Cage and produced by his “Like Crazy” director Drake Doremus (whom Price has served as an editor for), the documentary serves as an encapsulation of the profound impact Yelchin made during his all too short time as an actor.
