The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the honorees for the 2018 Governors Awards and the five recipients cover a wide spectrum of the industry.  Actress Cicely Tyson, publicist Marvin Levy and composer Lalo Schifrin will receive honorary Oscars while the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award will be awarded to producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall.  This is the 10th annual Governors Awards and the event will once again be held at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center in November.

As you probably remember, Netflix and the Cannes Film Festival aren’t getting along very well nowadays. This year, Netflix had hoped to premiere a selection of films at the prestigious event, but the folks behind the festival decided to enforce rules that basically prevented the streaming service from taking part. And one of the films that were then shelved was the long-awaited Orson Welles film “The Other Side of the Wind.”

If you’re not aware, “The Other Side of the Wind” is a film directed by Welles back in the early-to-mid-‘70s, however, remained unfinished.
