If you didn’t know better, you might think the trailer for “The Loudest Voice” is a fictional account of a media mogul gone mad, with Russell Crowe amping up everything and presenting an over-the-top villain who is in control of one of the biggest networks on TV. That would be some pretty compelling TV right there. But then you realize that he plays Roger Ailes and the entire story is true and happened over at Fox News.

Annapurna Pictures Drops Two Major Films From Its Slate As The Film Chief Leaves The Studio

Today has been an odd day for Annapurna Pictures, as the studio surprised many and deleted two films from its upcoming slate of projects and got rid of one its highest executives.

The news began with a report that the studio decided to part ways with the upcoming Fox News/Roger Ailes project that was set to go before cameras in two weeks. The untitled film, which would tell the story of the fall of Ailes after sexual harassment allegations, is set to star Nicole Kidman, Charlize Theron, John Lithgow, and Margot Robbie.

So Fox News columnist Roger Friedman reviewed the “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” leaked , stolen and unfinished workprint earlier this week and even though it was a positive review (of course), and the Internet freaked out, right? And with good reason, any blog would have done some such a dubious move and 20th Century Fox, would have freaked, no?

Well, Nikki Finke is reporting that Friedman has been shitcanned for the move according to her sources.
