It’s hard to say how much “Enola Holmes,” the younger sister of Sherlock Holmes story adapted from the YA fiction series of the same name by Nancy Springer, penetrated into the pop culture space. Sure, “Stranger Things” star Millie Bobbie Brown led the movie, and Netflix gave it a sequel and called it a hit, but don’t they do that with everything?

But the reality is, in case you missed it, and it feels like some more cynical audiences thought it might not be for them, “Enola Holmes” was absolutely delightful.

With fall festivals pressing on, it will be interesting to see where the film discourse takes us in the coming months, especially as some films begin to tiptoe back into theaters.

Netflix loves Millie Bobby Brown and turned her into a star with “Stranger Things.” The 16-year-old star seems to love Netflix and has barely worked outside their organization since “Stranger Things” in 2016 save “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” and it’s 2021-scheduled sequel.  That trend remains the same with Brown’s upcoming starring role in “Enola Holmes,” an upcoming British mystery film based on the Young Adult book series of the same name by Nancy Springer, featuring the already-famous Sherlock Holmes’ teenage sister.
