Chrissy Metz from “This Is Us” and Thandie Newton from “Westworld” are your potential winners. “The Handmaid’s Tale’s” Ann Dowd could surprise, but that actresses’ Emmy chances are much better in the other category she’s nominated in, Guest Actress in a Drama Series for “The Leftovers.” Before the nominations were announced, many believed Metz would easily win.
