George A. Romero might have passed away in 2017, but his work will continue. According to a new report from THR, Romero was working on a final zombie film before his passing several years ago, and now, his wife, Suzanne Romero, is looking for a filmmaker to tell the story.

The report claims that Romero was working on a film titled “Twilight of the Dead” before he died in 2017.

When it was announced a year ago that acclaimed filmmaker Jim Jarmusch would be taking on a zombie film for his follow-up to the character drama of “Paterson,” people were confused but also excited. The director of “300,” “Watchmen,” and “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has finally decided on what his very next project is going to be, and thanks to the folks at Netflix, this film will showcase Snyder without any restrictions. God help us all.

THR is reporting that Snyder has signed with Netflix to direct the film, “Army of the Dead.” As the name might suggest, ‘Army’ is the director’s return to the zombie genre that kickstarted his career in 2004 with “Dawn of the Dead.” And it would appear that the original sequel that he has developed in 2008 but was never made is now getting ready to begin production thanks to Netflix and its large bank account.

I’m hardly a horror scholar, so when it comes to the variety of versions of George Romero‘s 1978 zombie classic “Dawn Of The Dead,” I’m not an authority. But here’s what you need to know: Dario Argento was a fan of “Night Of The Living Dead,” and wanted to get involved with Romero’s followup, and made a deal to score international distribution rights for his help in landing financing.
