That’s because Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds” WWII movie world doesn’t feel the need to adhere to historical accuracy.

“Pretty much 90 percent is based on movie references,” Tarantino’s longtime production designer David Wasco, but added that they still labored to reproduce the period using original photographs and documents.
