“I think what I will tell you, it’s not going to happen,” Cross tells TvSquad. “It’s not official, but I just don’t think it’s going to happen. Way too much time it’s been [since the show ended]. I mean, there’s so many people involved.

Watch: The Full First Episode Of Spike Jonze & David Cross’ ‘The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret’

You’ll recall news that Spike Jonze and David Cross teamed-up for the British TV culture-clash sitcom “The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret” last fall.

Shot as a pilot that aired over the Christmas break in the U.K., the sitcom was recently picked up for a full-season and the show stars Will Arnett (“Arrested Development”), Cross and Jonze (though he’s apparently only in episode one).

The show was written by Cross and Shaun Pye, an English actor, comedian, writer, critic, who’s known for a reoccurring role on Ricky Gervais’ “Extras.”

You’ve already seen photos from the set and a shortened version of the first episode and now Vulture has found the entire first episode broken up into three different clips.

With the Oscars six months away and counting, the Academy are continuing to tweak the rules to try and shake up the awards ceremony — perhaps doing their damnedest to ensure, “Up,” “Star Trek” and other populist fare finally get their due. First came the announcement that the Best Picture category was being expanded to ten films, and then we heard that the amended rules for Best Original Song may eliminate the category altogether unless the contenders reached a certain numerical score during the nomination process (after all, too many songs make that ceremony too long; they’d rather run more ads).

Spike Jonze has released on-set images of recent shooting for David Cross’ British TV Pilot “The Increasingly Poor Decisions Of Todd Margaret” with the first look at the director and Will Arnett in character.

Jonze also took to discussing his role in the pilot: “I am in just in a couple scenes in the first episode. I have no idea why David asked me to do it but I had the best role, I just get non-stop verbally abused by Will Arnett in the most scathing hilarious way.

‘Arrested Development’ Feature Delayed? Hitting Theaters January 2011?

Nothing starts the day like Jason Bateman parroting the same sentiments on the prospects of the “Arrested Development” feature
film. “We’re gonna make the movie. Mitch Hurwitz is just starting to write it. It’ll be out in a year and a half.”

Sounds like it’s been delayed and a year and a half makes for January 2011, right? Then again, this is probably just a wild guess from Bateman. But either way, don’t hold your breath.

Here’s your odd and unexpected news of the day. “Where The Wild Things Are” director Spike Jonze and comedian/actor David Cross have evidently teamed-up to create a comedy for British television. Here’s the other weird part. Jonze, who hasn’t starred in a acting role since his excellent turn in “Three Kings,” will actually star in this as well alongside Cross.

The upcoming series is apparent a culture-clash sitcom which is titled, “The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret,” and Jonze will play a U.S executive who’s mistakenly sent to Britain to run the company’s UK division and finds himself in over his head.

Remember when “Year One” was a ooh, “secret” project that no one knew anything about and we all tried to figure it out? It’s amazing how keen producers can make something seem special and enticing when you just don’t know how spectacularly numbskulled and dreadful a project can be. Congenially innocuous to a fault, this brainless and bumbling idiots-travelogue is even dumb laughs and entertainment-challenged. It’s greatest crime is just how simpleminded and unfunny it all is.

As usual, nothing concrete is happening. Michael Cera talked to Collider and feels confident enough that the film will eventually happen, just not as soon as everyone thinks and probably won’t start shooting by the end of the year. Then again, it might just be his opinion. “I think it will [happen]. Yeah. I don’t see why it wouldn’t. I don’t think it will happen for awhile. But there is no rush. I think he should take his time.

Martin Short To Return In The ‘Arrested Development’ Movie

Here we go again. Speaking on an Australian morning television program, Martin Short has revealed that one of his upcoming projects includes the hot and cold “Arrested Development” movie.

Unfortunately, the show’s hosts quickly sidestepped the comment and instead inquired further about Short’s upcoming directorial project “Off Your Meds.” Though, no doubt Short will get grilled about it in the near future.

On the second season of the ill-fated show, Short portrayed the character of Uncle Jack Dorso, a fitness guru who lost the use of his legs due to a gym accident and was carried around by muscular personal assistant, Dragon.

International Trailer: Harold Ramis’ ‘Year One’

What haven’t we already said about Harold Ramis’ biblical comedy, “Year One,” that stars Jack Black and Michel Cera as two inept hunter and gatherers exiled from their tribe in ancient times who then wander through the rough terrains of before-B.C. history together, all the while coming across many touchstone figures featured in that wacky book called the Bible.

The Trailer Addict synopsis adds: “Two friends (Black, Cera) will go on a journey to change the course of history and evolve into heroes,” and that’s essentially correct too, though perhaps a little overstated.

‘Arrested Development’ Film Shooting Late 2009? An Actually Story Idea Evidently Exists Now

We’ve been trying to do our damnedest in our civic blog duty, avoiding stories on the “Arrested Development” movie since updates that inch the story forward a millimeter each time don’t really serve anyone.

However, a lot of the cast and crew seem to be echoing the same sentiment of late: The film should hopefully shoot sometime in 2009 and probably by the end of the year (though some are saying the fall which seems far too optimistic, given the snail’s pace development so far).

Harold Ramis’ “Year One” has a poster and now it has a brand new trailer (most boring lede ever, sorry).

Here’s the gist of it: When two cavemen (Micheal Cera and Jack Black) are exiled from their tribe in ancient times, they team to make it through the rough terrain of extremely ancient history together.

While this is another big ’09 comedy from the Judd Apatow brand, he’s only serving as a producer, and has no creative input, leaving that to the still-vital Ramis, who also co-wrote with Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg (“The Office”).

EW has the first look at Michael Cera and Jack Black in the Harold Ramis-directed, Judd Apatow-produced biblical comedy “Year One.”

We actually read the script earlier this year and don’t think we had an opportunity to discuss it, but it was quite amusing, endearing and entertaining – it should make for a fun summer comedy.

Paul Rudd and David Cross play Cain and Abel which is kind of awesome, especially considering how funny their parts are in the film.

Kill Me Now! ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks’ Sequel Green Lit Based Solely On Title

We didn’t bother to see the first “Alvin and the Chipmunks” movie, (who did?) but a sequel, due Christmas 2009, is already in the works. The main cast is returning including David Cross, who has taken flack from fellow stand-up comedians for selling out by appearing in the first one. The sequel, that has no writer or director, will be called, “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel.” Right now, we are contemplating adding squeakuel to our computer’s dictionary to save us from the annoying red underline that pops down beneath words that aren’t real.

Everyone wants an “Arrested Development” movie, right? Surely, Jason Bateman does as he talks about it non-stop anytime he’s doing press. Not all the cast members are about it. David Cross has already once sounded pretty skeptical about the project and now Michael Cera is basically saying leave it alone already. Speaking to the National Post in Canada, the Canuck actor said:

“I don’t think I would want to see a movie of the series if I was a fan, anyway,” Cera says.

Bateman surfaced on MSNBC’s “Countdown With Keith Olbermann,” last night – Olberman being the annoying analogue to Bill O’Reilly for the Democrats and a huge “Arrested Development” champion – to ostensibly promote the upcoming super hero film “Hancock,” with Will Smith, but then ‘AD’s David Cross showed up and the actors used it as a forum to talk up the long-rumored feature length movie (” ‘Hancock’ will be just fine,” Bateman said, implying it doesn’t need the press).

The alt-comic has drawn attention to the fact that he was actually even in “Alvin And The Chipmunks” (did anyone even fucking know before this?) and is bitching up a storm attacking fellow comic Patton Oswalt who made snide remarks on his myspace blog about Cross’ participation in the film.
