From creating series such as “Freaks and Geeks” to directing massive hit films like “Bridesmaids” and “Spy,” Feig has really become one of the best comedic directors of the past couple of decades. Paul Feig has directed films with thrills, comedy, romance, and ghosts. But his upcoming project with Universal puts him in a position he’s never been in before — directing a horror film.

According to Deadline, Feig has agreed to write and direct the upcoming film, “Dark Army.” The film, which is based on an original idea from the filmmaker, is said to be loosely connected to the Universal Monsters Dark Universe concept that the studio has been hoping to launch for years now, which is getting a reset with the upcoming Blumhouse film “The Invisible Man.”

While the plot is being kept under wraps, the film is said to feature some of the classic Universal Monsters, alongside some original characters created by the filmmaker.
