First things first; yes, it’s another post on “Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.” If you’re not interested in the film, move along, there’s nothing for you here. We have been writing about the film and its soundtrack a lot recently, but The Playlist is a site that’s always had a special interest in the place where music and movies meet, and, as one commenter astutely pointed out earlier, few films in recent years have made finished movie, score and pop soundtrack as inseparable as Edgar Wright’s new one.

First Listen: Metric Reveal First Song From ‘Scott Pilgrim’ Soundtrack

We’re just under six months away from the release of Edgar Wright’s hotly anticipated comic adaptation “Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World,” and the wait becomes less and less bearable as time goes on. Fortunately, the end of February has brought something to stave off the pangs, with a first listen to a song from the soundtrack.

As you may know by now, the film is set around the indie music scene in Toronto, with most of the principal characters playing in bands, and Wright, along with Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, has been curating a pretty spectacular line-up of bands, either to write the music for the in-movie bands, or just to appear on the soundtrack.

British film director Edgar Wright was on BB6’s A Month of Matinees program this weekend (pre-taped) and discussed a few interesting soundtrack details about his upcoming film, “Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.”

Most of the details we already know. Months ago we revealed that Beck was contributing to the album’s soundtrack as well as Japanese artist Cornelius. In fact, we already know what modern musicians are making the music for the band’s in the film.

Cornelius Records Exclusive Track For ‘Scott Pilgrim’ Soundtrack

News that’s been making the rounds and we heard, but couldn’t confirm until now: in the printed edition of Rolling Stone Mexico Japanese future-pop musician Cornelius confirmed he has recorded a new original song for Edgar Wright’s highly anticipated adaptation of the graphic novel series “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.” The film’s soundtrack may coincide with the release of Cornelius’ still untitled upcoming album.
