Who says the death of the groom should stop a wedding from happening? In the new film, “And Mrs,” we see that a little death shouldn’t stop the planned nuptials. 

As seen in the trailer, “And Mrs” tells the story of a woman in London who is excited to marry her fiancé. Unfortunately, just days before the wedding, her fiancé passes away. As she begins to reevaluate her life, she realizes that she needs to continue with the wedding as a way to put the relationship to rest, so to speak.

While Marvel fans anticipate “Deadpool 3,” which Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman just made a buzzy promo for, it’s easy to forget that Reynolds has more going on than reprising The Merc With The Mouth. In fact, along with acting and his various business ventures, Reynolds has his production company, Maximum Effort. And IGN reports that Reynolds and Colin Hanks have a new project under that banner: a documentary about the life and career of comedy legend John Candy.

The streaming wars have seen both ups and downs, with Disney+ and HBO Max making significant strides by adding subscribers in the shadow of Netflix that looms large. Peacock and other budding streaming services are still trying to grow their audience, and that means putting together more exclusive original content to get eyeballs with compelling television shows.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the streamer is putting together a new true series called “A Friend of The Family” coming from showrunner Nick Antosca (“The Act”) and has assembled a decent cast for the original Peacock show.

How “How It Ends” ends: badly, and not soon enough. How it begins is not much better, and has the added disadvantage of being even further from the end than the end. Everything in the middle is great, though! Just kidding. The middle is likely the worst part. “How It Ends,” directed by husband-and-wife team Daryl Wein (“Lola Versus,” “White Rabbit“) and Zoe Lister-Jones (“Band Aid“), who also stars, delivers almost precisely the film you might have feared in darker moments, way back at the beginning of this ungodly pandemic, that someone was going to think was a good idea: a wildly self-indulgent, toothcrackingly twee feature-length therapy session for people whose experiences during this period of isolation and alienation, contrary to the popular notion that we’re all going through much the same shit, are clearly so deeply, existentially different from yours that you end up feeling lonelier than ever.

C’est la vie we say, but does this mean that their songs in the upcoming washed-up magician film, “The Great Buck Howard” starring Colin Hanks, John Malkovich, Emily Blunt and Tom Hanks are their last and newest?

Early reports said that CYHSY were scoring the film, but that chore was actually tasked to Blake Neely (it’s not the greatest score to say the least, but you can hear some of it here), but the Brooklyn quintet did write two new songs for the film, “Going Away” and “Telling The Truth and Going Away.” The band is featured twice prominently; once in a bar scene and once in the closing credits.
